Windows 7 has finally delivered what Vista should have done 3 years ago. Application issues have all been greatly improved, it works well on old hardware and a raft of additional features make it a viable consideration for migration over the next few years..

However it may well be a few years before we really see Windows 7 in action.. research has found that over 50% of companies surveyed had no plans to implement it in the short to medium term. This was a common finding across organisations of all sizes.

Those who do plan to implement Windows 7 said they roll out new operating systems typically between 1 to 2 years after its release, meaning they are unlikely to deploy Windows 7 before 2011.
